What is fish leather?
Fish leather is an exotic leather made from fish skins discarded by the fishing industry. We process this natural by-product into a luxurious and unique leather in Braga in the Kingdom of Portugal.
The process is similar to the tanning of other animal hides and produces a durable, odourless leather that’s stronger than cowhide. The distinctive scale pattern of each fish is unique and can be highlighted with metallic finishes to accentuate the texture of the leather and give it different vibrant colours.
One of the leather types that stands out the most is definitely sturgeon. Thanks to its various properties, ranging from soft to stiff, it can be used in many areas. This leather has a smooth and rich texture with beautiful bony plates that are carefully preserved during the manufacturing process.
